Brighten your smile safely and effectively with professional whitening

What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is one of the simplest and most effective ways to enhance your appearance. It lightens the natural colour of your teeth using professional bleaching agents to remove stains and discolouration. At Bandlish & Auplish, we offer both in-surgery and at-home whitening options to suit your lifestyle, goals and tooth sensitivity.

Whitening is safe, fast and suitable for most people looking to refresh and rejuvenate their smile. A whitening consultation is recommended to help us determine the most appropriate treatment method for you.

Benefits of professional whitening

Professional teeth whitening provides more reliable, long-lasting results than over-the-counter alternatives. It is tailored to your tooth shade, preferences and sensitivity levels. Our whitening systems are clinically approved, comfortable to use and provide noticeable improvements in a short time.

Whitening treatments can boost your confidence, help you look younger and create a fresher, more polished overall appearance. Whether you’re preparing for an event or simply want to restore brightness, whitening is a highly popular and affordable cosmetic treatment.

Whitening options at Bandlish & Auplish

We offer three whitening approaches: in-practice Zoom whitening, home whitening kits, and a combination of both for enhanced results.

Zoom in-surgery whitening

Zoom whitening is a professional treatment carried out at our Harley Street clinic. It takes around 90 minutes and involves applying a peroxide-based gel to the teeth, which is then activated using a special light. You can choose the strength of the whitening agent, allowing the treatment to be tailored to your comfort and expectations. This method is ideal for fast results and often used ahead of special occasions.

Home whitening kits

For those preferring to whiten their teeth at home, we offer custom-made whitening trays and gel. Impressions of your teeth are taken and used to create bespoke trays that fit precisely. You’ll receive your trays and whitening gel at a second appointment, along with clear written instructions. Treatment can be done either during the day or overnight, depending on your routine.

Combination whitening

For optimal results, we recommend a combined approach using both in-surgery and home whitening. This allows for immediate improvements from your in-practice session, followed by gradual brightening at home. Please note that crowns, veneers and fillings will not whiten, and certain deep stains such as tetracycline or fluorosis may not be completely removed—though they can often be significantly improved.

Why choose Bandlish & Auplish for teeth whitening?

Our team takes a personalised approach to whitening, starting with a consultation to understand your goals, assess your oral health and recommend the most suitable technique. With access to the latest Zoom technology and high-quality custom trays, we offer both flexibility and clinical precision.

Whitening is overseen by our experienced dentists, ensuring a safe, comfortable and effective treatment. We also advise on managing sensitivity, maintaining your results, and avoiding staining foods or habits for lasting brightness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes. When carried out under professional supervision, teeth whitening is safe and highly effective. We always begin with an assessment to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy before treatment.

How long do the results last?

Results can last several months to a few years, depending on your oral hygiene, diet and lifestyle. Avoiding staining foods, smoking and attending regular hygiene appointments will help maintain the effect.

Can I whiten veneers or crowns?

Whitening products do not affect the colour of crowns, veneers or composite fillings. If these are visible in your smile line, we’ll discuss whether replacement or other cosmetic options may be more suitable.

Is at-home whitening more affordable?

At-home whitening kits are generally less expensive than professional treatments. However, the results from over-the-counter or home kits can be less predictable and may take longer to achieve. At Bandlish & Auplish, we recommend professional whitening for a safer and more effective approach. Our treatments use high-quality teeth whitening gel tailored to your needs, ensuring better results and reduced risk of sensitivity compared to generic at-home options. While the upfront cost may be higher, professional whitening can be more cost-effective over time due to longer-lasting results and professional supervision.

Will whitening make my teeth sensitive?

Some patients experience mild, temporary sensitivity during or after treatment. We provide tailored advice and can recommend products to help manage any discomfort.

What should I do before my whitening session?

Before your whitening session at Bandlish & Auplish, it’s important to have a dental check-up to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy. Avoid consuming staining foods and drinks like coffee, tea, and red wine for at least 24 hours prior. Brush and floss thoroughly to remove plaque and debris. If you have any dental restorations, inform your clinician as these may affect the whitening outcome. Following these steps helps maximise the effectiveness of the whitening gel and supports a comfortable treatment experience.

Will I need multiple sessions for noticeable results?

The number of whitening sessions needed varies depending on your starting tooth shade and the treatment method used. At Bandlish & Auplish, many patients see visible improvement after just one session, especially with our professional whitening gel. However, for deeper stains or more significant colour change, multiple sessions might be recommended to achieve optimal results. Your dentist will assess your teeth during consultation.
