Dental implants in Marylebone, placed by a specialist

What are dental implants?

A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth. A small titanium post is placed into the jawbone, the bone bonds to it over the following months, and a custom-made crown, bridge or denture is then fitted on top. The result looks, feels and works like a natural tooth.

For patients across Marylebone and the West End, our practice at 20 Harley Street offers the whole implant journey under one roof, from the first assessment to the final crown.

Why gum health comes first

The most important factor in how long an implant lasts is the health of the gum and bone around it. Implants can fail when gum disease is present or returns, so every implant patient at Bandlish & Auplish has their gums assessed first. If treatment is needed, we treat the gums before the implant is placed.

Your implant is placed by Dr Gita Auplish, a Specialist Periodontist whose work focuses on the gums and bone that support teeth and implants. Not every implant clinic can offer that.

Implant options

Single tooth implants. One implant and crown to replace one missing tooth, without cutting down the teeth on either side.

Multiple teeth. Two or more implants supporting individual crowns or a bridge.

Implant-supported dentures. Implants that hold a denture firmly in place, so it doesn’t move when you eat or speak.

We’ll talk you through which option suits your mouth, bone and budget at your consultation.

Your implant journey

1. Consultation and assessment. We check your gums, bone and bite, take the scans we need, and give you a written treatment plan and cost estimate.

2. Gum treatment, if needed. Any gum disease is treated first, so the implant has a healthy foundation.

3. Implant placement. Dr Gita Auplish places the implant under local anaesthetic, here at the practice. We use Neoss implants, made from high-grade titanium.

4. Healing. The implant bonds with the bone over a period of weeks to months.

5. Your new tooth. Dr Bobby Bandlish designs and fits your custom crown, bridge or denture.

Most patients need four to six appointments over two to six months, depending on their case.

Why choose Bandlish & Auplish for dental implants in Marylebone?

Specialist-placed. Implants are placed by a GDC-registered Specialist Periodontist.

Restored by an expert. Dr Bobby Bandlish holds a Master’s in Restorative Dentistry from the Eastman Dental Hospital and designs every crown for fit, bite and appearance.

One location. Assessment, gum care, surgery and the final tooth all happen at the same practice, so you aren’t referred between clinics.

Long-term care. Our hygienists and periodontist can look after your implants and gums for years afterwards.

After some pretty average care at a London Bridge dental surgery, I was recommended Bobby and his team by my local dentist in Clapham, to receive an implant for a molar that had gone awry… So overall, my experience exceeded my expectations and I have no hesitation in recommending Banlish & Auplish wholeheartedly.

Been a patient for some years now and have had wide range of treatment at the surgery during the time. The hightlight is a complicated case that required removal of a buried tooth, orthodontic treatment with Invisalign, bone grafting and implants. I would like to thank everybody involved, from individual specialists to reception staff and of course Dr Bobby Bandlish. You guys are the best!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do dental implants cost in London?

The cost depends on how many teeth are being replaced, whether any gum or bone treatment is needed first, and the type of restoration. After your consultation you’ll receive a written treatment plan and cost estimate, and interest-free finance may be available.

Who places the implants?

Implants are placed by Dr Gita Auplish, a Specialist Periodontist (GDC 71011). Your crown, bridge or denture is then designed and fitted by Dr Bobby Bandlish (GDC 71012).

Can I have implants if I have gum disease?

Gum disease needs to be treated and stable before an implant is placed, because it’s one of the main reasons implants fail. As a specialist periodontal practice, we can treat your gums first and then move on to implants.

Is having an implant painful?

The implant is placed under local anaesthetic, so most patients feel very little during the procedure. Some swelling or tenderness afterwards is normal and usually settles within a few days.

How long do dental implants last?

With good oral hygiene, regular check-ups and professional cleaning, implants can last for decades. Keeping the gums around them healthy is the most important part.

How long does the whole process take?

Most patients need four to six appointments over two to six months. If gum treatment or bone grafting is needed first, it can take longer, and we’ll explain your timeline at your consultation.
