Professional teeth whitening on Harley Street

What is professional teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening lightens the natural colour of your teeth using professional whitening gels to lift stains and discolouration. At our Harley Street practice, teeth whitening is dentist-led: we check that your teeth and gums are healthy first, then recommend the approach that suits your goals, lifestyle and sensitivity.

In the UK, whitening with professional-strength gels can only be provided by a dental professional. That supervision is what makes it safe and predictable.

Benefits of professional whitening

Professional whitening gives more reliable, longer-lasting results than over-the-counter products. Treatment is tailored to your starting shade and sensitivity, custom-fitted trays keep the gel on your teeth and off your gums, and we advise you on managing sensitivity and keeping your results.

Your whitening options

We offer three approaches: Zoom in-surgery whitening, custom home whitening, and a combination of both.

Zoom teeth whitening in London

Zoom is carried out at our Harley Street practice and takes around 90 minutes. A peroxide-based gel is applied to your teeth and activated with a special light. The strength can be adjusted to your comfort, and results are visible the same day, which makes Zoom a popular choice before a wedding or special occasion.

Home whitening kits

We take impressions or scans to make trays that fit your teeth precisely. At a second appointment you receive your trays, whitening gel and clear written instructions. You can whiten during the day or overnight, depending on your routine.

Combination whitening

For the strongest results we recommend both: an in-surgery Zoom session for an immediate lift, followed by home whitening to build and maintain the shade.

Crowns, veneers and fillings do not whiten. Some deep stains, such as tetracycline staining or fluorosis, may not lift completely, although they can often be improved.

Why choose Bandlish & Auplish for teeth whitening?

Every whitening treatment starts with a consultation to assess your oral health and understand what you want to achieve. Treatment is overseen by our dentists, so any existing restorations, gum concerns or sensitivity are planned for from the start.

If you have visible crowns or veneers, we will talk you through how whitening fits with them, and whether matching or replacing them later makes sense.

Whitening is part of Dr Annie Li’s “ABC” approach to minimally invasive smile improvement: align, bleach, bond. Many of her patients whiten after Invisalign on Harley Street, once their teeth are straight, and before any bonding, so that composite can be matched to the new, brighter shade.

Whitening is also provided by Asmeen Hossenboccus, one of our dental hygienists and therapists, who is experienced in teeth whitening. Every course of whitening is prescribed by a dentist after a check-up, as UK regulations require.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does teeth whitening cost in London?

The cost depends on whether you choose Zoom, home whitening or a combination. We confirm your fees at your consultation, before any treatment starts.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes, when it is carried out or supervised by a dental professional. We always check that your teeth and gums are healthy before treatment.

How long do the results last?

Results can last from several months to a few years, depending on your diet, lifestyle and oral hygiene. Occasional top-ups with your home trays help maintain the shade.

Will whitening make my teeth sensitive?

Some patients have mild, temporary sensitivity during or after treatment. We can adjust the gel strength and recommend products to help.

Can I whiten veneers or crowns?

No. Whitening does not change the colour of crowns, veneers or composite fillings. If these are visible when you smile, we will discuss your options.

How many sessions will I need?

Many patients see a clear improvement after one Zoom session. Deeper staining may need home whitening afterwards. Your dentist will advise at your consultation.

What should I do before my whitening appointment?

Have a check-up and hygiene appointment beforehand so your teeth are clean and healthy. Let us know about any crowns, veneers or fillings, as these will not change colour.
